A Bound Brook family of six displaced by a weekend fire that left their home uninhabitable is still accepting donations, officials said.
BOUND BROOK, NJ - A Bound Brook family of six displaced by a weekend fire that left their home uninhabitable is still accepting donations, local officials said.
A GoFundMe for the Trupkiewicz family affected by the Mountain Avenue home fire on March 19 has gained over $27,000 as of Friday morning, $7,000 over its original goal. The fire, which is still under investigation, appears to have started from a motor vehicle parked between 581 and 577 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook Fire Marshall Erik Mickelsen told Patch. Both families were able to escape and firefighters also rescued two dogs. No injuries were reported.

The Trupkiewicz family is “now must begin the painstaking process of grieving for what they had and begin on the path of rebuilding their lives and home,” Annie Kielblock, the GoFundMe owner and sister of homeowner Alyssa Trupkiewicz, said on the fundraiser page. “Hopefully the funds will cover immediate expenses and anything the insurance can’t cover. Anything is greatly appreciated.”
The Bound Brook Fire Department will be accepting donations on behalf of the family on March 21 to 24 from 4 to 7 p.m., as well as March 25 from noon to 5 p.m. at 327 Cedar Ave. The family is seeking the following items:
