Phishing Scam Impersonates Warren Committeeman: Township
Warren residents are being warned after Township Committeeman Victor Sordillo was the target of a phishing email impersonation scam.
WARREN, NJ — Warren residents are being warned after Township Committeeman Victor Sordillo was the target of a phishing email impersonation scam.
The Township sent out an alert on Sunday warning that on Jan. 11 several Warren employees received emails from “mayor2036@gmail.com” from someone pretending to be “Vic Sordillo.”
Township employees and residents are asked that if they receive an email from this address, DO NOT RESPOND, it is a scam and an impersonation of a government official.

"Unfortunately these phishing email scams are all too common and by releasing this information we hope that the residents of Warren do not fall prey to such scams," said the township.
The Warren Township Police are investigating the matter and will seek criminal charges should the identity of the person(s) committing this scam be discovered.
