St. Patrick's Day Coming in Style to Somerset County

We've got your list of meals, music to fill the day.

Sometimes there's just not enough days to go around, but each week we'll give you an idea of something to do to relax, spend time with family or just take some time for yourself.

And now that March is here, we’re getting a jump start on preparing you for the fun of St. Patrick’s Day, with a list of specials and events happening all throughout Somerset County.

  • A great way to start celebrating St. Patrick's is with Rolf's famous corned beef dinner. They'll be dishing it out beginning March 14, so make your reservations.
  • The Tap Room is featuring three days of specials, including corned beef and cabbage dinner specials, and corned beef sandwiches for lunch. The Tap Room is famous for its fine beers, and for St. Patrick's Day, that means special prices on Smithwick and Guinness. The specials will be offered March 15, 16 and 17.
  • Chimney Rock Inn in Gillette is having three days of special music leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, with The Snakes on March 10, The Rovers on March 14 and Courtney Colletti on March 17. Plus, there will be a special menu from March 8 through March 17, including a cooked corned beef platter, cabbage, broiled white potatoes, Guinness beef pot pie, homemade Irish soda bread, Bailey’s Irish cream cheesecake and several Irish beers.
  • With Monsignor Seamus Brennan as grand marshal, Somerville will host its 22nd annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade March 10, with the parade beginning at 1:30 p.m. Parade sponsors this year include Willie McBride’s, Houlihan’s, Somerset Medical Center and more.
  • The on Route 202 in Basking Ridge, will be holding its annual St. Patrick’s Day Brunch March 17, with shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash, Irish soda bread and much more.
  • Gabriel’s Fountain, on Washington Valley Road in Martinsville, is hosting “An Evening in Ireland,” including an all-you-can-eat-buffet, plus entertainment from Kevin Byrne, Davis Academy of Irish Dancing and Cliff Delaney. Reservations are strongly suggested by calling 732-469-5800. The entertainment begins at 5 p.m., and the brunch is $27.95 each, or $12.95 each for those 12 and under.
  • Station Pub & Grub in Bernardsville, always a good neighborhood hangout, will be serving corned beef and cabbage along with the regular menu and bar offerings. The pub usually gets a good crowd on St. Patrick's Day.
