Decades-Old Outback Steakhouse Closes Route 22 Location In Somerset County

"Closing a restaurant is never easy," said Outback Spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly.

GREEN BROOK, NJ — Longtime Outback Steakhouse has closed its doors for good at its Route 22 location after serving the community for almost 30 years.

Outback Spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly confirmed to Patch that the location at 98 Route 22 in Green Brook Township closed on Sunday, Oct. 26.

"Closing a restaurant is never easy. This was a business decision that is not a reflection of the management or staff," said Daly.

Some employees will have the opportunity to transfer to another location, and all will receive a transition bonus, according to Daly.

"We appreciate the community’s support over the past 29 years and hope to see them at our Edison Springfield and Ocean restaurants," said Daly.
