“This year’s health exposition is built on the premise that healthy employees equal better business,” commented Expo co-chair Sejal Davé Sharma of RWJ University Hospital. “Providers like RWJUH have made the commitment to help businesses in Somerset County weave health and wellness into the fabric of their corporate culture. We invite all employers to come to the health expo and use it as a bazaar of local wellness options that may be applied to the workplace.”
“The 2016 Wellness Expo will build on the success of the inaugural event held last year,” said Somerset County Freeholder Director Patricia Walsh, a member of Healthier Somerset. “We encourage businesses to invest in their most valuable resource – their employees – by participating in and learning from this comprehensive program.”
The expo will offer exhibits and health screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, smoking cessation, healthy weight, healthy diet/nutrition, auditory assessment, and stress management conducted by doctors and other health professionals from RWJ University Hospital, Summit Medical Group, Natural Medicine and Rehabilitation, Carrier Clinic and Anew Wellness. Additionally, there will be healthy and nutritious food stations, food preparation demonstrations and samplings, wellness-related workshops, and exercise and movement demonstrations.
“Anew Wellness is excited to once again host Somerset County’s Annual Health & Wellness Expo,” added co-chair Ezekiel Rivera. “This year’s focus will be, Healthy Employees = Better Business and we are excited to provide the local business community an opportunity to access local resources as a means of cultivating a culture of health and wellness within Somerset County. Whether your business is large or small, this year’s health expo will provide insight into cost effective ways to promoting health and wellness at your workplace. We welcome all employers, regardless of size, to come and join us.”
