A group of New Jersey middle school students visiting Washington, D.C., last week reportedly took the opportunity to publicly snub House Speaker Paul Ryan by refusing to take a photo with the political heavyweight. The South Orange Middle School eighth-graders were on a school trip when they were offered the chance to take a photo with Ryan, The Village Green reported.

Man Injured In Alleged Gloucester Township Home Invasion Didn't Intend To Rob Home: Report

The family of a Clayton man who was injured during a home invasion in Gloucester Township earlier this week claims he was duped by a group of people into going to the house in the first place. Dante Robinson, 21, is accused of breaking into a home in the Key Lane area at about 12:30 a.m. Monday, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle said.

Berkeley, Lacey Police Make Major Drug Bust In Bayville Home

Berkeley and Lacey township detectives have arrested a Bayville man and charged him with the large scale distribution of Oxycodone and suspected anabolic steroids, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said. George Woerner, 41, is suspected in the distribution of more than 500 individual doses per week in Berkeley and surrounding townships from his home on Hoover Avenue, the chief said.

Bridgewater Wawa Opens Friday

The Bridgewater Township Wawa location has opened with a grand opening celebration that was held at the 580 Union Ave. location. The new store, which features 5,585 square feet of retail space and an additional gasoline facility, opened to the public at 8 a.m. on May 26 with the grand opening ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. Free coffee will be offered to customers through June 4.

Bear Spotted In Middletown Thursday Night

Coyotes, seals and now a bear have all been spotted in Middletown Township. A bear was sighted in the area of Nut Swamp Road, the Township said in a statement. The state Division of Fish and Wildlife responded and they are monitoring the situation. The Middletown Police Department has increased patrols in the area as well. As the Manchester Patch reported, a bear was seen in Manchester on May 21. Manchester Township police were called to Holly Hill Road in the Holly Oaks section.
