Watchung ShopRite To Relocate Within Same Shopping Center

WATCHUNG, NJ - Watchung shoppers, get ready for a change of scenery - sort of.

The Watchung ShopRite store, which has been located at 1701 US-22 since 1980, is set to move within the same Blue Star Shopping Center.

The new 72,000-square-foot construction is slated to include façade and common area updates, an extensive landscaping redesign, and the addition of outdoor seating, as well as new lighting, parking lot refurbishments and infrastructure to install EV charging stations.

The current ShopRite, which stands at just over 43,000 square feet, will remain open while the new location is built, according to a news release from Levin Management, the property’s managing and leasing agent. The grocer expects to begin development of the larger store this summer.

Following the relocation, the property manager will “reconfigure” the vacated store to accommodate several tenants, Levin Management said.

There are over 300 ShopRite stores nationwide, including more than 150 in the Garden State.
