Boy, 15, Wounded In Tuesday Afternoon Shooting: Passaic Prosecutor

The teen came to a local hospital with a gunshot wound, officials said. He is the second teenager shot in the city since Sunday.

PATERSON, NJ — A 15-year-old boy arrived to a Paterson hospital on Tuesday afternoon with a gunshot wound, and officials are seeking to apprehend the shooter.

The victim is the second teen who has been shot in the city since Sunday, when the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said a 16-year-old was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the middle of the day.

According to Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, the 15-year-old came to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. He was seeking medical help for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police located a suspected a crime scene near the area of North 8th Street and Oxford Street in the northwest of the city, Valdes said. The investigation is ongoing, and officials will release more information as it becomes available.

The Sunday afternoon shooting happened near the area of 12th Avenue and Auburn Street in Paterson, Valdes said.
