WAYNE, NJ — It's been almost seven years since Wayne Township officials approved an application to re-develop a vacant plot of land on southbound Route 23, and now the property owner is looking to bring two national franchises to the site.

As first reported by NorthJersey.com, Galreh LLC's latest plan calls for another Wawa convenience store and pump station, next to a new Chick-fil-A — and on the same lot as a planned apartment complex.

Wayne officials approved Galreh LLC's plans for the site back in September of 2017, after neighbors expressed concerns about its potential impact on the school system, flooding and traffic.

Galreh's original application called for a five-story apartment building, 12,800-square-foot building and a 262-seat restaurant to be built there.

Ten nearby residents and the land owner for the nearby Wayne AutoMall Hyundai challenged that decision in court, but a Superior Court judge upheld the board's approval.
