Elderly Wayne Resident Bilked Out Of $12.5K; Cops Seek Scammer
Police are looking to identify the pictured man, who is accused of running a scam that cost one resident $12,500.

WAYNE, NJ — Wayne Police are investigating a scam that they say cost one elderly resident $12,500.
Officials shared a photo of an unidentified man in a gray hoodie, black athletic pants, and black baseball hat, whom they suspect is the scammer. He may have ties to Jersey City, police said.
Police ask anyone who can identify the man pictured, or who has any more information on the scam, to call Detective Henriquez at 973-694-0600.

A Wayne Police spokesperson did not share any more information about how the resident was scammed out of their money, citing the active investigation.
