Wayne Crash Closes Lanes On Route 23: See Details

A crash with downed wires has closed several lanes of traffic.

WAYNE, NJ — A crash with downed wires has shut down parts of Route 23 in Wayne, police said.

On Monday night, around 9:45 p.m., Wayne police announced that Route 23 should be avoided in both directions north of Alps Road and south of Packanack Lake Road following a crash with wires down on both sides of the highway.

At 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, two lanes of Route 23 North and Route 23 South were opened in both directions.

The right lane and the shoulder are closed due to utility work, police said. It’s not clear at this time when they will reopen.
