Fatal Hit And Run On I-80, Police Seek Public’s Assistance

A pedestrian was struck by an "unknown large commercial vehicle or tractor-trailer," according to police.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A hit and run on I-80 has left one person dead, NJ State Police said.

On Wednesday at around 3 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by an “unknown large commercial vehicle or tractor-trailer,” leaving them with fatal injuries, according to authorities.

The incident took place around the 59.5-mile marker on I-80 eastbound in Paterson, and the vehicle did not remain at the scene, police said.
