PATERSON, NJ — Federal officials say four gang members have been charged in an illegal drug operation, with one accused of holding a postal carrier at gunpoint in Paterson last summer.

Law enforcement has been investigating members and associates of a Paterson-based gang known as “100K” or “Down the Hill" since Jan. 2022, said U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger on Thursday.

Officials said three of the defendants are part of that gang: 19-year-old Jazmeir Reyes, aka “Baby Joe” and “Joe;” 18-year-old Kyzeik Robinson, aka “Doo Doo,” “King Sparks,” and “Sparks;” and 27-year-old Michael Davis, aka “Baby Three."

The fourth man charged, 24-year-old Jacim Pitts, is known to be a member of affiliated gang “So Icey,” according to Sellinger's office.

Robinson is still at large. Reyes, Davis, and Pitts all had initial court appearances scheduled.

Undercover officers bought narcotics from the gang members and associates of 100K between Aug. 2023 and April 2024 "and seized in excess of 100 grams of fentanyl as well as quantities of heroin and cocaine," Sellinger said.

The four Paterson residents have been charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, said Sellinger. Reyes faces separate charges, as officials say he held a U.S. Postal Service worker at gun point on the afternoon July 28, 2023.

Reyes is accused of threatening the mail carrier to try and steal their arrow key, which is used to gain access to mailboxes within a certain geographic area or postal route.

According to court documents, the worker was on Liberty Street in Paterson around 4:10 p.m. that day when a man in dark clothing came up behind him on a bicycle. The man got off the bicycle, stood in front of the mail carrier, and pulled out a firearm.

He then pointed the gun at the mail carrier and grabbed at their bag, saying "give me the key" and repeatedly threatening to shoot the postal worker, court documents allege.

"Despite the individual’s repeated shouts of 'I’ll shoot you' at the worker, the USPS employee "refused to give the individual the arrow key," investigators wrote in charging documents. "The individual then got on his bicycle and fled down Liberty Street towards Paterson Avenue."

The attempted robbery was captured on nearby surveillance footage, officials said, and other cameras later captured Reyes' face.

In addition to the drug charges, Reyes faces charges of attempted Hobbs Act robbery, assaulting or impeding certain United States officers or employees, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.
