Men Had 8 Ounces Of Cocaine, $6,700 In Vehicle: Wayne Police

One man had a 'white powdery substance on his nose' and couldn't sit still, police said.

WAYNE, NJ — Police found two men with more than 8 ounces of cocaine and more than $6,700 in a vehicle parked at The Kings Motor Inn on Route 46 Tuesday, authorities said.

Eric G. Seegers, 59, of Clifton, and William L. Clark, 53, of Paterson, were arrested on several drug possession and distribution charges, said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.

Police saw a 2016 Jeep Patriot improperly parked at The Kings Motor Inn on Route 46, which suddenly drove onto the highway and cut off several vehicles before police stopped it on the Route 80 East ramp, Martin said.

Seeger, the driver, had a white powdery substance on his nose, was constantly rubbing his face and nose and was fidgety and would not sit still, Martin said.

Police found several small bags of suspected crack cocaine, a cut plastic straw with a white powdery substance on it, several digital scales, and a plastic zip bag contained a "substantial amount of crack cocaine" along with other drug paraphernalia, Martin said.

Clark had a "substantial" amount of money on him and tried to hide several small pieces of crack cocaine in the back of the police car, the captain said.

Police found 8.3 ounces of crack cocaine during the investigation. Seegers had $4,425 on him and Clark had $2,300, Martin said.

Seegers and Clark were each charged with possession of cocaine, distribution of cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Clark was also charged with hindering apprehension. Seegers was issued four motor vehicles summonses.

Seegers and Clark are being held in the Passaic County Jail.
