More Violent Crimes, Fewer Nonviolent in Wayne

New Jersey State Police show that compared to the first half of 2013, Wayne has seen more violent crimes but fewer nonviolent ones in 2014.

New Jersey State Police have released their Uniform Crime Report for the first two quarters of 2014. According to their reports, Wayne’s crime index has fallen from 564 to 407 in the last year, a 26 percent decrease in overall crime.

After 16 incidents of violent crime between January and June 2013, Wayne saw 19 such incidents in the first two quarters of this year.

Nonviolent crime incidents have fallen, from 548 in the first half of 2013, to 388 incidents in the first half of 2014.
