NJ Driver Runs Over Woman After Hit-And-Run, Police Say

After hitting a woman's car, the accused then ran her over during a confrontation, police said.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County woman has been arrested for running over someone with her car, according to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, officers were called to the area of Grand Street and Dale Avenue in Paterson on a report that someone had been hit by a car.

Police found that a woman had been run over by a car and sustained major injuries. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators discovered that the woman had been in a car accident earlier with another driver, according to authorities. Police said that the victim had followed a 2025 Honda HR-V, driven by Rosalind D. Parks, 46, of Paterson, that hit her car and took off.

When the woman got out of her car to confront Parks, Parks ran her over with the Honda and drove off again, police said.

Parks was later found and arrested in her Paterson residence.

She is charged with aggravated assault, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury, and endangering an injured victim. Parks also faces several motor vehicle offenses, including reckless driving and failure to report an accident.

Parks was taken to the Hudson County Jail to await court proceedings.
