NJ Man Gets 45 Years In Jail For Sexually Assaulting Girl Over 4 Years

The man also wrote a letter to the child victim from jail asking her to help him by changing the sworn statement she provided to police.

CLIFTON, NJ - A Clifton man was sentenced to 45 years in New Jersey state prison this week for sexually assaulting a girl for years in her home, authorities said.

Alfredo Hernandez-Sanchez, 36, was sentenced after being found guilty by a jury of aggravated sexual assault and related offenses in April, Passaic County Camelia M. Valdes said in a statement.

Hernandez-Sanchez will also be subject to a thirty year parole disqualifier, and, upon release from prison, will be subject to parole for life and Megan’s Law registration requirements.

The sentence stems from a June 2018 investigation from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding a fifteen-year-old child who reported being sexually abused by Hernandez-Sanchez over the course of four years, Valdes said.

The child told detectives she was sexually abused by Hernandez-Sanchez on multiple occasions between January 2014 and March 2018 at her residence in Clifton. Upon Hernandez-Sanchez’s arrest in connection with the sex abuse, he wrote a letter to the child victim from the Passaic County Jail apologizing to her and asking her to help him by changing the sworn statement she provided to detectives, Valdes said.
