Passaic Co. Featured In Twelfth Season of PBS’s 'Travels with Darley'
These upcoming episodes feature locations with rich history, scenic landscapes, and vibrant local culture in Passaic County.

PATERSON, NJ — "Travels with Darley" is bringing destinations in Passaic County to center stage in two new episodes in its newest Season 12 on PBS stations, including its popular Revolutionary Road Trip sub-series. Tune in to NJ PBS on Saturday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. to experience Passaic County’s remarkable heritage and contributions to American history.
“New Jersey has such rich American history to share,” said "Travels with Darley" host, Darley Newman. “From Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park to George Washington at Dey Mansion to industrial heritage at The Paterson Museum, viewers will learn about destinations close to New York City that they can visit through local guides and experts who have first-hand knowledge and insights into lesser-known stories.”

Episode 1: New Jersey: Revolutionary Road Trip Part IV

Airing March 22nd, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. on NJ PBS, this episode is part of Travels with Darley’s ongoing exploration of America’s fight for independence in anticipation of the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026. The episode will take viewers to locations with deep historical significance, including Washington’s Headquarters at Dey Mansion, Ringwood Manor, and Long Pond Ironworks. Additionally, the episode will highlight Passaic County’s scenic and cultural treasures, such as Lambert Tower, Garret Mountain Reservation, Paterson Great Falls National Historic Park, and Hinchliffe Stadium, along with renowned local dining establishments including The Barrow House in Clifton, Bottagra’s in Hawthorne, Westside Diner in Totowa, Lakeside Diner in Ringwood, and Sister’s Deli in Woodland Park.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the rich history and cultural significance of Passaic County,” said Passaic County Commissioner John Bartlett. “From our Revolutionary War landmarks to our parks and vibrant communities, these episodes capture what makes Passaic County such a special place to live, visit, and explore.”
Episode 2: New Jersey’s Silk City & Baseball
Airing March 29th, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. on NJ PBS, this episode takes viewers on an exciting journey through Passaic County’s transformation from an industrial powerhouse to a dynamic, diverse community. Host Darley Newman explores the county’s rich heritage with visits to the American Labor Museum, Passaic County Arts Center, Lambert Castle, The Paterson Museum, Peru Square, Little Falls, and Peckman Preserve. The episode also celebrates the legacy of America’s favorite pastime with a stop at the Yogi Berra Museum, a landmark dedicated to life and career of Baseball’s favorite catcher Yogi Berra. Adding to the adventure, the show highlights some of Passaic County’s most beloved local eateries, including Ethan and the Bean in Little Falls, Mexico Restaurant in Passaic, and Leña y Carbón in Paterson —offering a taste of the flavors that make the area unique.
