UPDATE: Man Killed After 5-Car Crash In Clifton, Police Say
Officials said one driver was involved in a crash with four other vehicles, killing a 52-year-old Newton man late Wednesday morning.
Update: The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said no pedestrians were injured in the crash, and the man who died was driving one of the vehicles involved.

CLIFTON, NJ — A pedestrian died Wednesday after being hit by one of the drivers involved in a five-car crash in Clifton, officials said.

The pile-up happened around 11:40 a.m. on Getty Avenue, near Crooks Avenue. Photos from the scene show several of the vehicles with heavy damage on the front end.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi, the driver of a 2021 Chevy Trailblazer "was involved in a collision with four other vehicles and struck a pedestrian."

First responders took the pedestrian, a 52-year-old man from Newton, to St. Joseph's University Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.
Officials did not say if the Chevy driver, who is a 35-year- old Madison woman, or any of the other drivers were injured. No charges have been filed at this time.
