PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Authorities have identified the two people who were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Ringwood Wednesday afternoon, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes announced.

Victor Weinpel, 19, of Wanaque, and a 17-year-old West Milford boy were killed in the crash after their 1999 Toyola Corolla hit a Chevy van on Greenwood Lake Turnpike north of Skyline Drive at about 3:15 p.m., Valdes said.

The Corolla hit a guardrail, went out of control, and crossed into the opposite lane, hitting the van head on, Valdes said.

Paul Barker, 64, of Ringwood was driving the Chevy. There was no one else in the vehicle, the prosecutor said. He was taken to St. Joseph's University Hospital with minor injuries, Valdes said.
