Don Your 'Denim & Diamonds' For Upcoming Wayne Education Foundation Gala

Proceeds from the gala will go towards supporting Wayne Schools students during important transition periods in their school journeys.

WAYNE, NJ —Members of all 15 school communities will unite to raise money for students at the Wayne Education Foundation's "Denim And Diamonds" gala next Friday.

Parents and teachers are encouraged to put on their denim, some bling, and "maybe even your cowboy boots" and come to the fundraiser. Proceeds from the gala will go towards supporting Wayne Schools students during important transition periods in their school journeys: 5th grade to 6th grade, 8th grade to 9th grade, and high school into college.

The "Denim and Diamonds Gala" is Friday, Nov. 15 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Brownstone, 351 W. Broadway, Paterson, NJ 07522.

Tickets are $125 for general admission, and $100 for district employees. The price includes dinner, an open bar, dancing, a silent auction, and a musical performance by the band Steppin' Out. Ethan Maayan, the principal of James Fallon Elementary School, is a member of this ensemble.

Silent auction items are valued from $200 to $2,000, and include golf outings, tickets to Madison Square Garden and a New York Giants game, a free month of tutoring at Mathnasium, a gift card and some merchandise from Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, school-specific auctions, and more.

The Wayne Education Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to providing programs including music, arts, theatre, culinary, wellness, and STEM classes, to enrich students' educational experiences. They also provide summer camp services to families in the Wayne area, and raise money for the school district.

Wayne Schools alumni will also be honored during this event.

Other main sponsors are the Wayne Education Association, Wayne Paraprofessional Association, and the Wayne Custodial Maintenance Association.
