Tickets from Red Light Cameras to be Forgiven
17,000 traffic citations are being thrown out because drivers never received notice of the citations.

Over 17,000 traffic tickets will be thrown out due to a “technical glitch” in red light cameras across Northern New Jersey.
Drivers were cited by the cameras for running red lights, but were never notified of these citations. Judges at the state level have asked municipalities to throw out the infractions.
“These companies incessantly tout the supposed accuracy and consistency of their systems - when the only thing consistent about the camera company representatives is their blatant misrepresentation of what the equipment does and how accurately it does it,” said Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon. O’Scanlon is lobbying to have the cameras removed.
