Video Shows Cow Loose, Roaming Free On I-80 In Paterson

The cow, which is tagged, stopped traffic on the highway at about 4 a.m. Thursday, according to reports.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — There was a different kind of moving violation on Interstate 80 early Thursday morning: The four-legged kind.

A cow got loose from its owner and was roaming free on the North Jersey highway at about 4 a.m., according to ABC7. The animal stopped traffic as it walked on the eastbound side of the highway.

Police were able to corral the cow and get it off the highway, according to the report.

The slaughterhouse the cow came from agreed to release the animal to the Skylands Animal Sanctuary in Wantage in Sussex County, RLS Media reported.
