Wayne Lights Up For Diwali At Upcoming Celebration
Join members of the community for dancing, music, and food to celebrate the Hindu Festival of Lights.
WAYNE, NJ — All are welcome to celebrate the colorful Festival of Lights at a Diwali lighting in Wayne, hosted by the township and members of the local Indian community.
The event will be Monday, Nov. 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the municipal building (475 Valley Road).
The five-day "Festival of Lights" is celebrated by many Hindu and South Asian people every year. This year, the first day of Diwali fell on Oct. 31.

As Diwali is also a time for service and charitable giving, attendees are also asked to bring a donation for the Wayne Interfaith Network food pantry. Every item donated earns one token, and you can exchange five tokens for a Diwali snack box. The items most needed at WIN are canned vegetables, canned soups, canned protein, Knorr rice and pasta kits, and small jars of jelly.
