Wayne Police Arrest Men in Possession of Burglary Tools, Heroin

One man was "walking around ringing door bells and walking through backyards," while the other ran from another house towards the woods.

Police say two men were arrested after they were found to be in possession of burglary tools and over 50 bags of suspected heroin.

Wayne Police responded to Harrison Road Thursday on a report of a suspicious four-door red or maroon vehicle “occupied by two adult males, one who was last seen walking around ringing door bells and walking through backyards,” Captain Martin Laurence said.

Upon arrival, police located Arthur Buckle, 40, of Clifton, who was sitting in the described vehicle and immediately attempted to flee as he drove toward the uniformed Officer. Police stopped the vehicle and observed three glassine bags of suspected heroin labeled “summer jam” in the center console, Captain Martin said. A search turned up a total of 56 glassine bags of suspected heroin also labeled “summer jam.”
