ANNOUNCING MARTIAN WEEKEND: 3 DAYS OF OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD WEST WINDSOR FUN!
In 1938, Martians touched down in the sleepy “Grovers Mill” neighborhood and invaded the planet. Well, not really. But that is what Orson Welles depicted in his Oct. 30, 1938 “War of the Worlds” radio play. The day after, newspapers across the country reported stories of radio listeners believing the play to be a real news report, and panic sweeping the United States. To this day, it remains one of West Windsor’s most (in)famous historic events.
But rather than fear the Martians, why not celebrate them?
