Mercer Street Friends Distributes 10,000 Turkeys to Partner Agencies
Effort Supports Pantry and Community Partners' Charitable Thanksgiving Dinner Needs
Mercer Street Friends, the Feeding America food bank for Mercer County and a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening local families through food, family and education services, completed its distribution of 10,000 turkeys to pantry and community partners on Tuesday, November 18. More than 100 agency partners, including Arm in Arm, HomeFront, East Trenton Collaborative, St. Raphael–Holy Angels and Mt. Carmel Guild–Catholic Charities, will now redistribute the turkeys to families facing hunger.
The need for nourishing meals this year is greater than ever. With the support of its partners and community agencies, Mercer Street Friends is working to meet the growing demand for food assistance in Mercer County.
This large-scale effort was made possible through the support of Wakefern, Capital Health, Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America and Bloomberg Philanthropies – key contributors who helped ensure families across Mercer County will have a holiday meal.
