Preserving Berrien City’s History: A West Windsor Community Effort

Honoring Berrien City's legacy with a historic sign celebrating the neighborhood's past, present, and future.

West Windsor Township is a community rich in history, where neighborhoods each tell a unique story of our town’s evolution. Among them, Berrien City stands as a testament to West Windsor’s past, a neighborhood with deep roots and a close-knit community spirit. Now, we have the opportunity to celebrate and commemorate Berrien City’s legacy through a historic neighborhood sign, ensuring that its story is recognized for generations to come.

Berrien City is one of West Windsor’s oldest residential neighborhoods, dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Named after the Berrien family, who played a significant role in shaping this area, the neighborhood has long been a cornerstone of our township’s history.

Installing a historic sign for Berrien City requires a community effort. The cost of designing and installing the sign is approximately $2,500. Thanks to the support of the Historical Society of West Windsor, they already have a pathway to make this project a reality—but they need your help to make it happen.
