Trapped Motorists Rescued In West Windsor Car Fire: Officials

Firefighters rescued trapped occupants and treated six other injured individuals following a Tuesday morning crash, officials said.

WEST WINDSOR, NJ - Firefighters rescued trapped occupants and treated six other injured individuals following a Tuesday morning crash in West Windsor, officials said.

At the scene, West Windsor firefighters found a two-car motor vehicle collision with one vehicle on fire and occupants trapped inside, West Windsor Professional Firefighters said in a statement via Facebook.

“It was immediately obvious that this was a life and death incident,” West Windsor fire officials said. “Our crew worked with [the] West Windsor Police Department to remove the occupants before the vehicle was overtaken by fire.”

Members of the fire department, alongside the on-duty Capital Emergency Medical Services Tour Chief, began a rapid triage and treatment of six other injured occupants, officials said.

Shortly after the rescue, the fire was extinguished by Princeton Junction Volunteer Fire Company and West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1.

It was not immediately clear where the crash took place. A request for information was not immediately returned Wednesday morning.

“This was a great demonstration of teamwork and coordination,” officials added. “Thank you to our mutual aid partners as well.”
