3 Killed In South Jersey Crash: Police

The passengers were ejected, according to police.

VINELAND, NJ — Three people were killed Saturday after a speeding car hit a utility pole and went into a farm field in Vineland, police said.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene and included driver 23-year-old Ian P. Rodriguez and passengers 26-year-old Joquan Carter and 24-year-old Shamere Bryant, according to police, who said all three were from Millville.

Officers responded to the crash shortly before 8:30 a.m., according to police. Rodriguez was speeding west on Mayslanding Road in a 2006 BMW when the vehicle suddenly veered right near Panther Road, hit a pole, and overturned while striking an irrigation winch in a field northwest of the intersection, police said. The passengers were ejected, according to police.
