Multiple fire companies responded Tuesday afternoon to a basement fire on Carter Avenue in West Deptford.
No injuries were reported, and everyone in the house escaped unharmed. The fire was knocked down in a matter of minutes, and fire Marshal John Austin's chief concern was for the welfare of first responders in the July heat.
