Man Fell Off Bike Before Getting Run Over, Killed In South Jersey: Police

Multiple vehicles struck the biker while he was lying in the roadway, authorities said.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — No charges are expected after a man fell off his bicycle and was fatally struck by two vehicles Thursday night in Gloucester County, police said.

The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. at the intersection of the Black Horse Pike (Route 42) at Berlin-Cross Keys Road in Monroe Township.

A 39-year-old Glassboro man fell off his bike while trying to cross the Black Horse Pike from the eastbound side of Cross Keys Road, police said.

As the biker laid in the southbound travel lane, he was struck by a 2002 Chrysler minivan and then a 2023 Honda CRV that were traveling down the Black Horse Pike, authorities said.

The biker was pronounced dead at the scene. Police withheld his name on Friday.

No charges are currently pending for the drivers, who both remained on-location, police said.
