Gloucester County COVID-19 Vaccination Megasite Reopens This Week

New Jersey is reopening its COVID-19 Vaccination megasite in Gloucester County this week as the state rolls out additional shots.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — New Jersey is reopening its COVID-19 Vaccination megasite in Gloucester County this week as the state rolls out third doses and booster shots, officials announced. A reopening date has not been announced.

Previously, the site was set up at Rowan College of South Jersey, 1400 Tanyard Road in Sewell, where it was open from January through June. Megasites closed over the summer as vaccinations shifted to a more local focus. Read more here: Gloucester County COVID-19 Mega-Site To Relocate June 1

Meanwhile, the Gloucester County Vaccine Site is open Tuesday through Friday to offer vaccines to all those eligible to receive a vaccine, Gloucester County Commissioner Director Robert M. Damminger said.

"Vaccines are available Tuesday through Friday at the Gloucester County Public Works Complex," Damminger said. "No appointments are necessary."

Last week, the federal government authorized a single booster dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for those who received their second dose six months ago. As of Monday, there have been 32,690 coronavirus cases and 658 coronavirus-related deaths in Gloucester County since the pandemic began in March 2020.

"Rapid testing is available by appointment at the Gloucester County Health Department. Please call 856-218-4142 to schedule Monday through Friday," Damminger said.

As of Monday, Gloucester County has conducted 231,584 total tests. Of these cases, 198,894 have come back negative.
