How do you know the star student?
I am his Grandmother
Tell us about your star student's accomplishments and why they deserve to be recognized on Patch!
My grandson John, affectionately known by various nicknames such as JT, J, Bubby, and JaJa, has truly blessed our family with his humble, kind nature and remarkable intelligence. John is the middle child, younger than his sister Lily and older than his little brother Dylan. At 9 years old, soon to be 10, John is an inquisitive boy who excels in both academics and sports. His love for reading is evident, especially recalling a summer when he eagerly surpassed the number of books he was asked to read.
John's academic achievements are impressive; he has been recognized as a "star student" every year since he started school, including during the virtual learning period due to COVID-19. His desire to learn is extraordinary, and it's amazing to watch him grow and mature, always striving to accomplish anything he sets his mind to. John has also received the Stellar Commit award and maintains straight A's. John is a natural leader and teacher, always willing to help others. He is a wonderful role model for his younger brother, who looks up to him and wants to emulate everything John does.
At just four years old, Dylan is already inspired by his big brother. John's competitive spirit drives him to excel in everything he does, including sports. He has won numerous awards in soccer and baseball, with Cristiano Ronaldo and J.T. Realmuto being his favorite players. John also has a generous heart. Recently, he joined me and his Pop Pop at an event supporting the Combat Veterans Association, where we spent the day outside Walmart gathering food donations for local veterans in need. John spent the day collecting and boxing donations to support the local food pantry.
He also enjoys working at the concession stand at local ballparks. To know John is to love him. He is a well-rounded young man who is funny, competitive, humble, and kind. As his grandmother, I eagerly anticipate what the future holds for him and will continue to enjoy watching him grow and become the best he can be.
