South Jersey Man, 23, Killed When Car Strikes Telephone Pole: Police
The driver lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway early in the morning, authorities said.
UPPER PITTSGROVE, NJ — A man died in a crash early Sunday when his car struck a telephone pole in Salem County, authorities said.
State troopers responded to the one-vehicle crash at 2:44 a.m. in Upper Pittsgrove. They identified the driver as a 23-year-old man from Penns Grove.
Police withheld his name as they worked to notify his next of kin.

The man lost control of his Honda passenger vehicle while driving north on Colson Road, according to the preliminary investigation from State Police. His car then ran off the rural roadway and hit a telephone pole.
It's unclear how the driver lost control at the wheel. State Police continue to investigate the crash.
