The stolen vehicle had multiple bullet holes, authorities said.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man evading Washington Township police jumped out of a moving vehicle on the highway and ran into the woods, where he was arrested Tuesday, authorities said.

Police identified the suspect as Antjuan Hart-Sydnor. He was driving a pickup truck stolen from Harrison Township with license plates stolen from Lumberton, officials said.

The car, which Hart-Sydnor crashed during the chase, had two bullet holes in the rear driver's-side door and rear glass, police said.

The pursuit began around 12:30 p.m., when police saw a white Dodge Ram with registration matching stolen license plates at US Gas on 5321 Black Horse Pike, authorities said.

The driver — later identified as Hart-Sydnor — activated the emergency lights and fled, jumping the median in the pickup truck while heading north on the Black Horse Pike, police said.

Hart-Sydnor struck a curb and another vehicle before the Dodge broke down on the on-ramp to the Atlantic City Expressway, authorities said.

The suspect exited the car and ran into the woods behind the NJ Transit bus garage, police said.

Another officer saw Hart-Sydnor exiting the wooded area and arrested him without further incident, police said.

Hart-Sydnor, 33, was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, along with eluding law enforcement and hindering apprehension.

He was placed in the Salem County Correctional Facility, which provides jailing services for Gloucester County.

Online court records didn't list an attorney for Hart-Sydnor on Wednesday.
