Overturned Trailer Shuts Down Highway In South Jersey

The trailer flipped onto its side and is blocking the roadway.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — A trailer overturned on the Black Horse Pike, shutting down traffic Wednesday afternoon in Gloucester County, officials said.

The trailer, which was attached to a truck, overturned around 2 p.m. at the intersection with Berlin-Cross Keys Road, police said. The area is near the Washington Township-Monroe Township border.

Contents in the commercial equipment trailer spilled onto the roadway.

It's unclear what caused the incident.

Photos shared by Washington Township Police show the trailer turned onto its side.

All northbound lanes on the Black Horse Pike — also known as Route 42 — are closed as of this writing. Expect delays in the surrounding areas.
