Owner Of Car Found In South Jersey Lake Didn’t Park Vehicle: Police
The owner of a sedan found at the bottom of a lake in South Jersey on Saturday failed to properly park the car, authorities said.
VINELAND, NJ - The owner of a sedan found at the bottom of a lake in South Jersey on Saturday failed to properly park the car, authorities said.
The owner was not in the vehicle when it rolled down a boat ramp and into the water on Friday at South Vineland Park in Vineland, Vineland Police Department’s Captain Steven Triantos told Patch.
“We could not tow the vehicle until the following day because the dive team had to hook tow straps to the vehicle so it could be removed,” Triantos added.

The car, submerged 33 feet in water and 124 feet from shore, was located Saturday via sonar detection, the Downe Township Fire, Rescue and Dive Team said in a statement.
A line was then secured by divers from the vehicle to the surface, with tow service provided from Battelini Transport & Towing Service, Downe officials said.

“Divers then swam the tow cables down the rope to the vehicle and secured the tow line to the tow strap that was placed on the vehicle by our initial divers,” Downe officials said. “Once our divers and boats were clear of the area Battelini's removed the vehicle.”
