The Phillies traded in January for Clemens, who's currently in his second MLB season. In 47 games this year, Clemens has hit .230 with four home runs. Clemens has primarily played first base in Philadelphia but has played throughout the infield and outfield during his career and occasionally pitches.
However, the Phillies optioned Clemens to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday to promote Darick Hall to the majors.
