Pink Panthers Take West Deptford Little League Softball Title
Overcoming the top three seeds in the tournament, the group of 9- and 10-year-old girls discovered they had the hearts of champions after a lackluster regular season.

"By far we were the underdogs," coach Tracey Thomas told Patch in an e-mail, "with only three wins and two ties during the regular season."
But once the playoffs turned over, the Pink Panthers just flipped the switch, channeling their inner L.A. Kings to take home a West Deptford Major League Softball title.
The squad opened with a 13-9 first-round victory, and following that up with an 18-17 squeaker against the top-seeded team in the township, which had gone undefeated all season.
Finally, on Friday night, the Pink Panthers entered the top of the sixth inning needing three runs to tie. They scored five, and shut down the opposition to pull out an 11-9 victory.
"What makes it even more amazing is that this group of little girls is made up of 9/10 age groups, and beat out the #1,#2, and #3 seeded team, comprised of mostly 11/12 age-group girls," Thomas wrote.
Congratulations to the parents, players and coaches who participated in the games.
