School Canceled After Staff Call Out For Eagles Parade In South Jersey District
The district planned to hold class on Friday. But with too many employees calling out for the parade, officials called an audible.
DEPTFORD, NJ — A South Jersey school district called an audible on Friday's school day, canceling class the night before because of callouts for the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory parade.
The Deptford Township School District initially planned to hold class on parade day. But it became unfeasible with too many employees taking the day off, said Superintendent Kevin Kanauss.
"With the number of callouts still increasing as of 7pm tonight, we are simply at the point where will be unable to safely transport and supervise our students tomorrow," Kraus said Thursday night in a letter to the district community.
