Vehicle Fire Backs Up Route 55 In Deptford

DEPTFORD, NJ — A vehicle fire has significantly delayed traffic Tuesday morning on Route 55, officials said.

The fire, reported at 8:14 a.m., happened on Route 55 northbound — south of Exit 56 to Route 47 in Deptford Township, according to the NJ Department of Transportation.

The right lane and shoulder are closed, leaving only one northbound lane open as of this writing. Expect delays of 10 to 15 minutes, NJDOT said.
