Clark College Student Fatally Hit By Motorcycle Loved Dancing, Cheerleading
Funeral arrangements will be held this week for Noelia Gomez, 18, of Clark and University of Delaware freshman.
CLARK, NJ — Funeral arrangements have been set for lifelong resident of Clark 18-year-old Noelia Isabel Gomez.
Gomez, a University of Delaware freshman, was fatally hit by a motorcycle while she was walking in a crosswalk on the first day of class on Aug. 27. Brian Briddle, 27, of Newark, Delaware, was charged on Friday in connection with Gomez's death.
She graduated with honors from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains in 2024 and just began college at the University of Delaware. She enjoyed dancing and cheerleading, according to her obituary at walterjohnsonfh.com.

Gomez was the beloved daughter of Francisco and Ana Maria (Casais) Gomez; the devoted sister of Daniel Gomez and the cherished granddaughter of Jose and Ana Cecelia Casais and Nieves Gomez and the late Jose R. Gomez. She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Walter Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm. The Funeral begins on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Funeral Home, thence to St. Agnes Church, Clark, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am.

Entombment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
