Congregation Beth Israel to Hold Free Family Service for Erev Rosh Hashanah
Scotch Plains Synagogue to Hold Free Community Service for Jewish New Year
Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) in Scotch Plains will hold its annual family service on Erev Rosh Hashanah, Monday evening, September 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This child-friendly service is free and open to the community.
The one-hour service will usher in the Jewish New Year with songs, stories and prayers. Rabbi Howard Tilman and Cantor Jacob Greenberg will officiate.
"The Rosh Hashanah family service has been a great addition for our community over the past five years. It has helped us welcome people of all background and experience levels, from kids to adults, so that they all have the opportunity to celebrate the New Year,” said Rabbi Tilman. “As CBI continues to grow in Scotch Plains, Fanwood, and surrounding communities, we hope this service can be a resource for the wider community and continue as a special celebration for Rosh Hashanah."
