Congregation Beth Israel Volunteers Read to Plainfield Students

Scotch Plains Synagogue and Plainfield Elementary School Form Book Club

Read on! A weekly "book club" has formed between volunteer readers from Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) in Scotch Plains and K-5 students at Stillman Elementary in Plainfield. Initiated through the synagogue’s Caring Community Committee, the book club has become a win/win/win for the students, the Stillman teachers and leadership team, and the CBI volunteers.

Program Facilitators from Stillman Elementary include: Brenda Noble, Principal; Kristen Klein, MSEd Literacy Coach (not pictured); Marianne Tankard, Supervisor of ELA/Literacy; Rishon K. Hasan, Ed. S., Superintendent, Plainfield Public Schools (not pictured); and Steven Stibich, Assistant Principal.
