Last Chance To Catch Free Summer Festival In Union County This Weekend

Fire breathers and a Grammy-award-winning artist headline this fourth, and final, installment of the county's summer series.

CLARK, NJ - The free Union County Summer Arts Festival series is coming to a close on Saturday, Aug. 23 in Clark's Oak Ridge Park.

Along with two musical performances and circus acts, kids of all ages will be able to enjoy hayrides, inflatable attractions and other activities during the fourth installment of this year's fun. Food and ice cream will also be available to purchase.

“Our Summer Arts Festival is one of the highlights of the season, and we’re excited to close out this year’s series with an afternoon of music, laughter, and community that everyone can enjoy, from our youngest residents to our oldest,” adds Lourdes M. Leon, Commissioner of Union County. “This event is truly for everyone. There will be something there to spark joy for every member of the family.”

Michael & The Rockness Monsters use the power of music to reach children and their families through the same tunes. Meeting them with a bit of humor and positivity, thousands of children at hundreds of schools have been able to enjoy "catchy and heartfelt" songs.

Their latest project, "A Good Place To Start," can be heard right now on SiriusXM Radio.

Joanie Leeds is a veteran performer of folk-rock songs for a family audience. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has been bringing her background as an early childhood music teacher into her approach to unite audiences for more than 15 years.

Along with a Grammy victory for her "All the Ladies" project in April 2020, Joanie's music has also been featured in the New York Times, People Magazine, Parents Magazine, Billboard and The Washington Post.

This marks the fourth and final installment of the series within this annual event, brought to the community in 2025 by the Union County Board of County Comissioners and Union County Education Associaton.

The day starts at noon and runs through 4 p.m. In the event of bad weather, the performances will still be held at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway.
