Meet Keyla, NJ's First 2022 Baby
Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth welcomed its first baby, Keyla, of the new year at 12:02 a.m. on January 1st.

ELIZABETH, NJ — Baby girl Keyla was born just after stroke of midnight on Jan. 1, 2022 — becoming the first baby born in the new year at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth.
Parents Maria and Jose Duchi of Irvington welcomed their New Year's baby at 12:02 a.m. on New Year's Day. Keyla entered the world at 6 pounds and 15 ounces.
This baby is also the first baby delivered statewide in 2022, according to a spokeswoman for Trinitas.
