Thousands Of Dollars To Be Awarded For Union County Art Projects

Organizations and individuals are both eligible.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Applications are now open for the 2026 Union County HEART Grant program supporting the arts in local communities.

HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) is an initiative to connect creative residents with opportunities and activities that directly benefit the county. These include building appreciation for history, growing arts and humanities, economic development, and cultural heritage tourism.

Non-profit organizations, individual artists, and scholars are invited to apply for funding that will be directed only to projects completed between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2026. Only residents of the county and county-based non-profits with programs taking place within Union County are eligible.

Organizations can request up to $2,500 with a 25 percent cash match required for any amount over $1,000. Individuals may ask for up to $1,000 with no cash match required.

Applications are available to submit online only by Oct. 23. Past winners have included civic groups and cultural organizations, individual poets, writers, historians, painters, photographers, musicians and dancers.
