Union County St. Patrick's Day Parade Still Marching On Saturday
Forecasted rain will not stop the 2024 Union County Saint Patrick's Day Parade from marching on March 9 in Union Township.
UNION COUNTY, NJ — The Union County Saint Patrick's Day Parade announced that they are "STILL" marching on Saturday despite rain in the forecast.
The 2024 parade will be held on March 9 in Union Township. Festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with the Thornstick Mass, and be hosted in conjunction with the Elizabeth A.O.H. at St. Patrick's Church in Elizabeth.
At noon, The Reviewing Stand Festivities at Morris and Stuyvesant Avenues in Union begin. There will be a "Kid's Zone" for all ages on Stuyvesant Ave. (just off Morris Ave.).

At 1 p.m. sharp, the parade begins with the marching units gathered on Morris Avenue and along Commerce and Jeanette Avenues. The parade route proceeds east along Morris Avenue to a turn at the Main Reviewing Stand at Stuyvesant Avenue and ends at Roosevelt Avenue.
This will be the 27th annual parade with Robert Wade serving as the 2024 Grand Marshal.

The National Weather Service is forecasting rain on Saturday which is not supposed to begin until after 1 p.m. Take a look at the Saturday forecast:
Saturday : Rain, mainly after 1 p.m. High near 51. East wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Rain. Low around 45. East wind 10 to 17 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
