Westfield Car Crash Leaves One Injured, Fire Crews Urge Caution

"The roads are getting busier as we are in the midst of the holiday season. Please take your time and stay safe," Westfield fire crews said.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A car crash earlier this week left one person injured in Westfield, according to fire crews.

The crash happened on Woodland Avenue when a sedan crashed into a tree, leaving one person with minor injuries. Fire officials posted about the crash on Facebook but did not note the cause of the crash.

Crews did urge caution among drivers during the holidays, writing "The roads are getting busier as we are in the midst of the holiday season. Please take your time and stay safe."

Westfield fire crews aren't the only ones gearing up for holiday drivers to take the roads, New Jersey State Troopers are starting the annual impaired driving crackdown "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over." The campaign lasts from Dec. 3 through Jan. 1.

The New Jersey State Police will have 96 additional troopers statewide during the holidays.
